Hello
LEGO buddies in the world.
I think you guys had used a floppy disk drive
quite often like this once upon a time : )
Until now, there's been some quite awesome LEGO Macintosh
including my Real LEGO Mac was made at 2013, : )
But These's no LEGO Mac with Floopy Disk Drive, as I know.
Neither does My MAC ,because I focused to insert the real LCD display
into my MAC, there was no space for the disk drive.
└ Real LEGO MAC, 2013 by gyuta
So, I tried to build the First LEGO MAC that has FDD
which can insert and eject a disk.
This is the proto type of LEGO MAC w/FDD.
6 studs wide, 10 studs tall and 5⅓ bricks lenth.
Actually when I planned to build this first,
The major appeal point was the display,
So I insert a smart watch into this MAC,
this was the only function what it had.
Suddenly I realized
the screen comes from the smart swatch,
and a LEGO's doing nothing
This has to be a LEGO not a smart-watch,
So, I struggled to design floppy disk drive.
Finally I figured out 6 ways(tricks) to insert/eject disk!!
#1
Using a keybord
Well.....
the secret of this trick is....
Yes,
these is an eject button on the back of it
Using an image editing ,
I hid the right hand was pushing the eject button. ; )
#2
Using a finger snap !!
Um.......
the secret of this trick is....
not an image editing,
It's a quite classic,
a magnetic force !!
I think this is too classic trick, it doesn't need to explain.
#3
Using a hand control !!
Hahaha.......
the secret of this trick is....
a magnetic force , of course.
In this time, not under the stage.
I hid the magnet in the hand.
#4
Using another finger snap
Oops..
Too powerfull !!
the secret of this trick is....
micro motor !!!
Do you know ChoroQ, the smallest RC car ?
I put this ChoroQ into the MAC like this,
Using a radio remote, I spin the rear wheel of the car backward.
then the ejector push the disk outside
#5
Pushing the disk again.
Well .... in this time.
the secret of this trick is....
not trick , simple mechanism.
I designed the hook system that decides a disk's state
depending on the off-set position of the disk when it was pushed.
#6
Pushing the front eject button .
Yeh!!
it's the strongest power.
I think it will be used as a gun, : )
If I would upgrade the power a little bit.
This, also, isn't trick. To the #5 mechanism,
I added the additional release system
which can raise up the hook that has been locked.
Using this proto type and #5, 6 disk drive tricks.
In the end, I've designed and built two diffrent LEGO macintosh.
LEGO macintosh 2.8
It has two interesting functions.
The first thing is the switching function of the screen like this.
It's a sort of casette type switchig.
The other thing is the disk insert/eject action like this.
This is the trick #5 what I introduced already.
In this time , LEGO macintosh 3.0
It also has two interesting functions.
But first thing is the switching function of the screen like this.
It's a rolling type switching.
And the other thing is the disk insert/eject action like this
Yes you already watched (Trick #6).
Thank you for watching !!
